IK Telegram – Reports from the countries 22/06

The last meeting of the International Coordination was held on 22/06/2021 at the NRW Mumble.

We thought that our reports from the countries in telegram style should be noticed:

Spain/Catalonia

The absolute excitement: Today the 9 most important faces of the Catalan independence movement were pardoned. The position of the Catalan Pirates on this can be found here: https://pirates.cat/ca/ (Title: “There is a missing amnesty for 3500 people!”).

UK and Scotland

Soccer and Delta variant (Corona) dominate public opinion.

Iceland

Icelandic politics, of course, also deals with Corona.

The big excitement is the spying on European heads of state by the Danish secret service (FE).

O-Ton Foreign Minister Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson:

“Trust and confidence are essential in communications between allies; a case like this can undermine that trust,” he said. “Unfortunately, there are states that benefit from undermining trust and solidarity among allies in the West.”

The June 2021 polls stand at 13.1%, best 2nd place. 1st place is the Conservatives (Fylgi Sjálfstæðisflokksins – Independence Party). Parliamentary elections (Alþingi) will be held on September 25, 2021.

Czech Republic:

Pirates+STAN still leading in polls at current 27.5% (+2% since beginning of month). On 22.06.2021 Pirates published a “candidate list” for ministers and state secretary posts https://www.pirati.cz/assets/pdf/VladniPirStan.pdf  – for each portfolio there are several proposals from each STAN and Pirates (except for Ministry of Defense, there are only candidates from STAN).

Pirates have sued Babis after he let the ultimatum pass to apologize to the Pirates – Babis had once called Lukáš Wagenknecht “crazy and a psychopath” – and was ordered in court to apologize to him publicly. Babis does not want to give in to this, and now he has the next trial on his neck. On 22.06.2021, the implementation of the EU copyright reform was decided in the Czech Republic. Pirates sharply criticize this.
