IK Telegram – Reports from the countries 25/05

The last meeting of the International Coordination was held on 25/05/2021 at the NRW Mumble.

We thought that our reports from the countries in telegram style should be noticed:

Austria

Chancellor Kurz can fool some people for some time and many people for a long time, but not all people forever. Now it catches him.

He will probably be charged with deliberate false testimony before the so-called Ibiza Committee. Some chat data on the cell phone should rather not be plopped.

“Basti Fantasti” is dead. No more a young star. The career-hungry boy is apparently at the end.

The rope teams and find management and the large coal, which it skimmed off with its buddies, falls now on its feet.

3 out of 4 Austrians expect new elections. The Greens have completely discredited themselves and are more than disenchanted.

Else:

Pirate Party Austria: PP-AT is doing well, PP-AT is growing, “surely we’ll eventually get a board that also shows up for meetings.”

On the situation in Austria: Greens are in acquiescence. Everything that is declared as a matter for the boss, failed spectacularly – example Green vaccination passport, where Austria wants to go its own way and not participate in the European solution.

Colombia, Northern South America

Silent marches against exit bans with the excuse of Corona protection and the real intention to put down the massive nationwide protests against the tax reform.

  • Many deaths and many massacres, nothing really independently verifiable.
  • Lots of cell phone videos with no real classification, but seemingly recent with images of abuse and police brutality.
  • Many disappeared people.

Still almost 2 million Venezuelans on the run in Colombia, meanwhile hunger, homelessness, violence and abuse. Prostitution of Venezuelan minors increases alarmingly, organ trafficking becomes an issue again. International aid is slow to arrive. Asylum seekers from Venezuela and Colombia are usually rejected immediately in this country. Economic reasons for asylum do not apply and political ones cannot be proven.

Chile

Half population vaccinated, nevertheless massive increase of infections, borders closed, back into hard lockdown. Some explanations like vacation time, in which all partly also without masks their “normal life” resumed at the beaches or new variants and mutants are not convincing.

But another suspicion suggests itself: Many Chileans question the effectiveness of the vaccines used. Because even though the campaign started with the mRNA vaccine from BioNTech/Pfizer, the vaccination in Chile is mainly done with “CoronaVac“. This Chinese vaccine was used in nine out of ten vaccinations. This is a classic dead vaccine in which inactivated virus particles trigger the body’s immune response.

Already in Brazil, this vaccine was used on a large scale, and there, too, it was blamed for further spread. “You might as well inject Pepsi” is a common saying in Chile now. But if there is nothing else, anything is better than nothing.

The intensive care beds are almost full!

According to a study by the prestigious Butantan Institute, CoronaVac prevented only about half of the infections, thus proving to be much less effective than the vaccines approved in Europe or the USA. And CoronaVac only achieved significant protection after the second vaccination – after the first injection, almost no protection against infection was detected.

Spain/Catalonia

A regional government was successfully formed in Catalonia last Friday. First official act with public perception: dialogue for the purpose of “pardon” (or versus “amnesty”) of political prisoners of the independence movement (with corresponding diplomatic groundwork – so this will probably be something)
First negative headline: clashes between supporters of the CUP (and pirates) with Catalan riot police over an apartment eviction in Barcelona.

UK and Scotland

Muslim Gate Prime Minister Johnson is apparently a racist and is having a shitstorm right now. Islamophobia has a long history, with Mr. Johnson.
We are getting a massive current against Muslims worldwide. China, India, Europe, USA from all sides this cultural group are always attacked.
A large majority are peaceful. Only the extremist groups spoil the soup. One has seen very well straight in Israel with the “stupid” Hamas.
We should find clear words about it, because hardly anyone else addresses it.

Luxembourg

The overall mood in the Pirate Party Luxembourg is very good.

Their actions in parliament have contributed to greater visibility, and we are starting to notice growing support in the electorate.

The last general assembly was on May 8, 2021.

Part of the new board are:

Marc Goergen (Coordinator)
Rebecca Lau (spokesperson)
Starsky Flor (spokesperson)
Lucie Kunikova (treasurer)
Sven Clement
Daniel Frères
Camille Liesch
Marie-Paule Dondelinger
Gilles Mertz
Rebecca Lau and Gilles Mertz are new board members. The others were re-elected.

There was also an election of 4 members for the Arbitration Committee (Laurent Jacob, Jean-Paul Goergen, Christian Welter and Jeanne Jacoby).

Iceland

USA Secretary of State Blinken visited Iceland, Keflavik Airport base is being massively expanded. It is about Russian domination in the Arctic and raw materials, Greenland (belongs to Denmark) is also an issue.

New Arctic dispute, division so far according to snow line, due to thawing of ice there is a shift here.

Elections must be held on or before October 23, 2021. Pirates stand at 11.3% in polls (9.2% in 2017 election)

Czech Republic:

Pirates and STAN have presented an election program.

The focus is on modernizing the country and reviving the economy. They want to increase some taxes and abolish tax exemptions.

Further, they want to help reduce deficits in public finances by, among other things, demanding that the Czech Republic join the Exchange Rate Mechanism II (ERM II). “It is a kind of first step in the introduction of the euro.” (Jakub Michalek)

Main demands from the Pirate/STAN program:

  • Seek significant new sources of revenue to mitigate the impact of the 2020 tax changes on the state budget and aim for lower debt.
  • Gradually increase the business tax to strengthen municipal budgets.
  • Strengthen revenues by at least billions of kroner through appropriate taxation of digital giants, greater emphasis on ecological tax elements, taxation of cannabis sales, and negative externalities.
  • Abolish tax exemptions, including for government bonds.
  • State, regions and municipalities need to get more out of taxing mining, for example, pirates cite Germany, where the tax rate is seven percentage points higher than in the Czech Republic.
  • Consideration of reinvestment in business taxation to support the development of start-ups, start-ups or investment in research in the Czech Republic.
  • The taxpayer’s rebate is regularly revalued in line with rising inflation.
  • Reforming income tax to improve the conditions for taxation of part-time and non-employment contracts.

Conduct analyses with the aim of reconciling taxes and expenditures in order to simplify the tax system and prevent tax evasion.

Last poll of 04.05: Pirates/STAN still leading at 27.5% with a 6% lead over WO, which has since dropped to third place.

Early elections are currently not on the agenda, as there was probably no majority for them in parliament.
